20 Years of Babbi Helado Italiano

In 2026, Babbi Helado Italiano celebrates its 20th anniversary, a milestone that marks two decades of growth, relationships, and development across the Iberian market.

Founded in 2006, Babbi Helado Italiano was the first international subsidiary established by Babbi and represented a key step in the company's international expansion journey. The project was created with the goal of being closer to industry professionals and promoting the excellence of Babbi's Ingredients for Artisan Gelato and Pastry, as well as its Wafer-Based Confectionery Specialties, throughout Spain and Portugal.

Led since its foundation by Chiara Babbi, CEO of Babbi Helado Italiano, the subsidiary has grown alongside the market and the people who have contributed to its development. During the early years, Chiara Babbi spent extended periods in Barcelona, personally overseeing the launch and consolidation of the project and helping build a strong network of commercial relationships. This journey has been shared with professionals who remain key figures within the company today, including Marta Toledo, Operations Manager since the subsidiary's foundation, Massimiliano Revello, Sales Manager, and Alexandro Furia, Branch Manager.

From its first premises in Molins de Rei, Babbi Helado Italiano has steadily expanded both its structure and its team. This growth led, in 2020, to the relocation to its new headquarters in Gavà, just outside Barcelona. This significant investment created larger and more functional spaces designed not only for commercial activities but also for professional training and consultancy. Production remains exclusively centralized in Italy at the company's headquarters in Bertinoro (FC), ensuring a qualified and widespread presence across international markets.

It was within the Gavà headquarters that the first Babbi Academy in Spain was established, a dedicated space for meeting customers, distributors, and industry professionals, where training, innovation, and the sharing of expertise become practical tools to support the growth of artisan businesses.

Twenty years after its foundation, the Spanish subsidiary continues to represent a successful model of international development for the Babbi brand. Following the opening of Babbi Helado Italiano, the company's international expansion continued in 2019 with the establishment of Babbi GmbH, the German subsidiary based in Augsburg, and in June 2025 with the opening of Babbi Middle East in Dubai.
